In a recent post on X, journalist Fabrizio Romano revealed that Liverpool playmaker Curtis Jones is on the radar of Inter Milan. It has been claimed that the Milan giants are hoping to sign the English midfielder from the Reds this summer.

Jones’ Inconsistent Season In English Football

Jones has struggled to be consistent for Liverpool this season, but has put in a run of impressive performances for them at the centre of the park. The English talent has scored three times and earned three assists in 49 matches for the Reds in this campaign across multiple competitions.

The 25-year-old is currently one of the most talented central midfielders in the Premier League when he is playing regularly and with confidence on the pitch. Therefore, it is no surprise that Inter are showing interest in recruiting him this off-season.

His current contract at Anfield will run out at the end of next season. Thus, the Reds have got no choice but to cash in on him unless they want to risk losing him on a free transfer next summer.

Can Liverpool Afford To Lose Jones This Summer?

Jones is a technically-gifted midfielder who can create some inviting chances for others around him in the final third. He is a good dribbler with the ball and can shoot it with venom from long range.

The Liverpool-born sensation can even chip in by scoring and creating a few important goals for his team. He is primarily a box-to-box midfielder but can also operate as a defensive midfielder or as an attacking midfielder if told to do so by his manager.

At the moment, Jones remains an important member of Liverpool’s squad. He is good enough to nail down a regular first-team spot at Anfield next season.

At 25, Jones’ best years are ahead of him. However, he is entering the final year of his Liverpool contract, so the Reds would have no choice but to sell him if they want to generate some funds for a suitable replacement. Another option for them would be to try and tie Jones down to a new contract. Either way, the Reds cannot afford to lose him unless they receive a reasonable fee for his services in the upcoming transfer window.
