This past summer, Paris Saint-Germain expressed strong interest in Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, but a move never came to fruition. Nonetheless, the player and the Italian club are having issues extending his contract amid interest from other European clubs.
Journalist Gianluca Di Marzio reports that Kvaratskhelia also wants an €80 million release clause included in the deal, though Napoli are reportedly reluctant to agree. The club has valued the Georgian international at around €100 million for any potential transfer.
Recently, journalist Graeme Bailey told Rousing the Kop that Kvaratskhelia is on Liverpool’s radar as the Reds plot for life after Mohamed Salah.
“When you’ve got the likes of possibly Kvaratskhelia on the market, let’s not forget that Liverpool have just brought in the second best Georgian player,” Bailey said. “Liverpool are all over Kvaratskhelia, they know about the situation, there might be a chance of getting him next summer.”

Even though he was the best player in Serie A two years ago, Kvaratskhelia earns only €1.3 million a season. His contract is not expiring soon, with more than two years left (until June 2027). Napoli have never been in a rush to find a solution, but a salary increase is needed for a player like him.
Calciomercato reports that the common goal is to continue together. However, things could change moving forward, and the next meeting could be crucial. The financial aspect is also to be defined, as the player’s agent is asking for a figure close to €8 million, while Napoli is offering €5 million.
The club wants to resolve the issue soon, or else everything could change by the end of the season. The information also notes that the paths could even diverge if a common ground is not found.
A sale is not yet being considered, but in that case, Aurelio De Laurentiis would not hold back: only a monster offer would allow for any serious discussions. Kvaratskhelia made 45 appearances in the 2023-24 season, scoring 11 goals and providing nine assists and playing a key role in Napoli’s Serie A title win.
