Liverpool shut the door on Real Madrid: This player "not for sale at any price"
Liverpool have made their position clear regarding Dominik Szoboszlai’s future amid growing interest from Real Madrid who have been monitoring the Hungarian midfielder following his standout performances under Arne Slot.
According to Football Insider, the Premier League champions are expected to reject any offer from Real Madrid, regardless of size with Slot determined to keep the 25 year old as central part of his long-term project.
Real Madrid manager Xabi Alonso is reportedly major admirer of Szoboszlai and sees him as ideal addition to refresh the club’s midfield for the next era at the Santiago Bernabeu.
Szoboszlai’s athleticism, creativity and work rate have made him one of Liverpool’s most consistent players this season at time when several senior stars have fluctuated in form.
His role was also pivotal in last season’s Premier League title win.
Given that his contract runs until June 2028, Liverpool hold all leverage and they intend to use it.
The report adds that Liverpool aim to open negotiations on new improved contract both to reward his performances and to close the door firmly on external interest especially from club with Real Madrid’s pulling power.
The club view Szoboszlai as non transferable with no intention of entertaining bids in the upcoming transfer windows.
