Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson Becker is reportedly the subject of interest from Juventus and Inter Milan ahead of the summer transfer window.
Juve are looking for an upgrade between the sticks as part of their plans to shore up the backline. They have not kept a clean sheet since late January, conceding 18 goals in the following eight games.
Their horrid run of form has seen drop down to sixth in the Serie A and bow out of both the UEFA Champions League and Coppa Italia.
Inter, meanwhile, are planning for life without Yann Sommer. The Swiss shot stopper’s contract expires this summer and the club do not intend on extending his terms.
That’s why both Italian clubs are looking at potentially signing Alisson from Liverpool after this season concludes, according to La Repubblica.
The reports states that the Reds may be willing to part ways with the Brazil international this summer as he turns 34 later this year.
The Merseyside outfit have already signed his long-term successor after Giorgi Mamardashvili was bought from Valencia in a deal worth up to £29 million in 2024.
Arne Slot last week praised Alisson and stressed his importance in the team. He said: “We already have him now for seven years… seven years ago he made his debut. The good thing is that we not only have one good goalkeeper, we have Giorgi Marmardashvili, [who] is also a goalkeeper that could be a number one.
“This club is in a really good place when it comes to goalkeepers and has been for so many years. Before Giorgi was there, we had Caoimhin [Kelleher] and he did really well for us and now for Brentford.
“But Ali has always been the number one and that tells you how good he is if he can keep Caoimhin and Giorgi behind him. We needed him once against [Nottingham] Forest after three minutes and again he was there for us.”
Alisson has been one of the key pillars in Liverpool’s success over the past eight years, playing a key role in two Premier League title wins and the Champions League success in 2019.
However, the veteran goalie has been prone to injuries in recent years. He missed almost two months of action earlier this season after injuring his hamstring against Galatasaray in September.
