Joe Gomez debuted a never before seen adidas football boot against Arsenal on Sunday afternoon.

The Liverpool defender was thrust into the action during the final stages of the game and made a welcome return from an injury which saw him ruled out for a considerable part of the summer.

Gomez made the most clearances (7) despite only coming on in the 79th minute and he won 100% of his aerial dules (3/3).

At a time when Arsenal were pushing forward to salvage something from the game and get at least a draw Gomez's presence was very much needed.

He's always been that kind of player, though. When on the pitch, you can trust Gomez at all times. But unfortunately, he is rarely ever on the pitch these days, often struggling with injuries.

Nonetheless, it wasn't just Gomez's performance against Arsenal that caught the eye, it was also a unique boot that he wore on his feet.

According to Footy Headlines Gomez debuted the Next-Gen adidas Predator 26 prototype boots against Arsenal.

Gomez was seen wearing an all white adidas boot, which the site claims is a prototype for a new predator release that is expected to come out later this year.

This prototype features the return of the "wavy" Three Stripes, inspired by the adidas Predator Precision from 2000, and a classic fold-over tongue.

It is expected that the boot will come in a red, yellow and white colourway and that it will be launched in late 2025.

The site claims that it's very unusual for prototypes to be worn in official matches and it doesn't happen often. Gomez's whiteout boots were definitely eye catching.

It is claimed that Gomez must have been given prior approval from adidas to wear the boots. The site explains how Gomez liked the Next Gen Predators that he 'immediately' wanted to wear them.

It's going to be interesting to see whether Gomez continues to wear this whiteout version of the boot until the release of the official colourway.

They certainly gave him good luck during the Arsenal game, so he might just keep them around. Although adidas may not want to give too much away before the release and that could see Gomez being forced to return to the old predators that he's been wearing previously.
