Liverpool star set for early exit after crazy Arne Slot fall out

One Liverpool star has fallen out with Arne Slot and is now set for an early exit from the club.

Liverpool will move more players on this summer and we already know some big names will depart. Mohamed Salah and Andy Robertson are certainly off, while Alisson Becker is heavily rumoured to be following. Ibrahima Konate's contract expires next month, too, and it increasingly appears that there won't be a new one.

But there's another name that won't go away: Curtis Jones. Jones will enter the final year of his own deal in the summer after nearly leaving the club in January.

The club that tried to sign him, Inter, are now back in for a deal. That's according to Tuttosport, who claim that Jones is a serious option for a summer move.

Notably, they say that the deal is on because Jones has fallen out with Arne Slot. The relationship has apparently broken down and that's driving the Scouser's exit this summer.

It's a deal that will end up looking like a disaster for Liverpool. We believe that anyway, let alone if it's because of a fall out with a head coach who may not stick around that much longer.

So this is a situation to keep a close eye on in the summer. Though as things stand, we'd be very surprised to see Jones remain at the club.

Curtis Jones: Situation Summary

Liverpool Performance and Stats

As of 20 May 2026, Curtis Jones has retained a significant role in Liverpool’s midfield despite a difficult campaign under Arne Slot. The 25-year-old academy product has made numerous rotational appearances, including starting five consecutive games recently. He played the full 90 minutes in the 4–2 defeat to Aston Villa on 15 May and provided an assist in a 3–1 victory over Crystal Palace in late April.

Transfer Speculation and Friction

Jones' future at Anfield has come under intense scrutiny as he enters the final 12 months of his contract. Reliable reports from 18 May confirm that Italian champions Inter Milan are planning to resurrect their January interest with a summer approach. Liverpool value the midfielder at roughly £35 million. Amidst stalling contract talks, reports suggest a strained relationship with Slot, further fuelled by Jones publicly interacting with social media posts critical of the manager.
