Liverpool are interested in signing the PSG attacker Bradley Barcola at the end of the season.
Mohamed Salah will need to be replaced, and the 23-year-old French International could be an interesting option. Even though he has not been a regular starter for PSG, he has consistently impressed with his performances.
Barcola has started just 17 league matches for PSG.
He produced a strong performance against Liverpool in the UEFA Champions League quarter-finals, and it is no surprise that they are keen on him. Barcola has 12 goals and seven assists this season.
According to a report from The Times, Liverpool have been keeping tabs on Barcola for a while, and they were keen on him last summer as well. It remains to be seen whether they can get the deal done this time. PSG will not want to lose the talented young attacker easily. They could demand a premium for him.
On the other hand, the move to Liverpool could be ideal for the French attacker. He needs to play every week at the stage of his career, and regular football in the Premier League could accelerate his development and help him fulfil his potential.
He will add explosive pace and unpredictability in the final third. The 23-year-old could prove to be a major upgrade on Cody Gakpo. The Netherlands International has been hugely underwhelming this season, and Liverpool needs to find an upgrade on him.
Ideally, they should look to invest in two quality wingers. They have also been linked with Yan Diomande from RB Leipzig.
It remains to be seen whether they can plug the gaps in their squad and bounce back strongly next season. It has been a disappointing season by their standards, and they have not been able to push for trophies.
