At this point, it is well-established that FC Barcelona want Liverpool winger Luis Diaz as a top priority to strengthen their attacking unit this summer.

The 28-year-old Colombian international has a huge admirer in the Blaugrana sporting director Deco and manager Hansi Flick has also given his approval for the signing.

Furthermore, as reported earlier today, Diaz himself appears keen on a move to Barça and has allegedly told Liverpool he is ready to move on this summer.

Liverpool to sell for Luis Diaz

Building on that, journalist Santi Ovalle on Cadena SER now reports that Liverpool would be prepared to sell Luis Diaz this summer for a fee of around €80 million (£70 million).

As per the update, the 28-year-old winger has an agreement with the Premier League champions for them to let him leave if a good offer arrives.

The Reds understand that the former FC Porto ace is ready to bring his time in England to an end, having been informed by his representatives that he is ready to embark on a new adventure.

As such, Liverpool could open the doors for Diaz’s sale should an offer of €80 million come along this summer.

The question then would be whether Barcelona can match that figure, with previous reports suggesting that the La Liga champions were hoping to finalise a deal for a fee in the range of €65-70 million.

It must also be noted that Diaz continues to attract concrete interest from Saudi Arabia where Al-Nassr, for one, are intent on his acquisition.

With Barcelona set to complete the signing of Joan Garcia soon, Deco & co. should be able to turn their focus fully on closing the Diaz deal.

Only time will tell if the Blaugrana are able to sign the Liverpool ace or are forced to look at alternatives such as Marcus Rashford.
