Liverpool are open to loaning out Kostas Tsimikas, but they will try to sell him until the final moments of the window.

The Reds signed Milos Kerkez from Bournemouth this summer and since his arrival, Tsimikas has fallen down the pecking order in Arne Slot’s team.

Liverpool are ready to let the Greek international leave this summer, but have been favouring a permanent transfer to bring in cash.

Tsimikas also wants to leave in search of regular game time and he has no shortage of European suitors in the market.

Ligue 1 outfit Lille showed interest in signing him, but they shifted their focus to other options.

Roma have also joined the race and Gian Piero Gasperini’s side want to take the left-back on loan, but Liverpool have insisted on a permanent move.

It has been suggested that Liverpool have opened up to a loan, which helps Roma, but according to Italian journalist Eleonora Trotta, the Reds will keep trying to sell him.

That suggests Liverpool may leave it very late to agree to a loan as they instead seek a permanent solution for Tsimikas.

In the Premier League, Nottingham Forest showed interest in Tsimikas after the departure of Harry Toffolo to Charlotte FC and Alex Moreno returning upon expiry of his loan.

Liverpool signed Tsimikas from Greek side Olympiacos in 2020 and he has made 115 appearances for them so far in his career.

However Roma are very keen on landing him as Gasparini is an admirer of his talents and he will be hoping that he will be able to secure a move out of Merseyside before the transfer window closes.
