Liverpool FC Women have completed the signing of Norway forward Anna Josendal from Hammarby IF.
The 24-year-old put pen to paper on a contract with the Reds at the AXA Melwood Training Centre.
Josendal will wear the No.21 shirt and told Liverpoolfc.com upon finalising the switch: “It feels amazing to be here. This has been my dream since I was a little kid. Liverpool has always been my favourite team and my whole family is supporting them as well, so it’s big for me.
“I spoke a lot with [manager] Gareth [Taylor] and Andy [O’Boyle] and that felt so good, and also to play in the Barclays Women’s Super League, the best league in Europe, is something I really look forward to.
“To play for this shirt is going to be so special, so I can’t wait to get started.”
Josendal began her professional career in her homeland at Avaldsnes IL before moving to Rosenborg BK at the beginning of 2022.
In 2023, she won the Norwegian Women’s Cup and was named Toppserien Player of the Year after registering 17 goal involvements (eight goals, nine assists) from her 24 top-flight outings.
Josendal has spent the past two campaigns in Sweden with Hammarby, where she was on the scoresheet 12 times in all competitions.
She has represented Norway’s senior team since June 2022 and appeared at the 2023 Women’s World Cup.
Josendal is the third signing of the January window for Gareth Taylor’s side following the arrival of Alice Bergström and Jennifer Falk.
