Arne Slot facing big selection dilemma for trip to south coast
Mohamed Salah is set for his first Premier League start in two months when Liverpool play Bournemouth at the Vitality.
Salah returned after the Africa Cup of Nations in Wednesday’s 3-0 Champions League win in Marseille and Arne Slot says he is ready to go again on the south coast.
“Knowing Mo, he is ready to play,” said Slot on Friday. “Because he has shown that so many times in his career.”
The big question for Slot is whether to go with the same side that was so impressive in midweek or freshen things up with the 72-hour turnaround.

Ibrahima Konate remains unavailable following the passing of his father.
Joe Gomez will start alongside Virgil van Dijk at centre-back.
“I spoke to [Konate] a few times,” said Slot. “I think these are private matters and they should stay between us.
“It's very obvious that if something like that happens, a player needs time to be there for his family and also time for himself.”
Federico Chiesa is rated a “50/50” fitness doubt after missing the Marseille game.
Slot said: “For the rest, no-one picked up a knock after the game. I expect all the same players to be available again.”
It remains to be seen if Andy Robertson will be in the squad amid talks over a transfer to Tottenham.
In midfield, Curtis Jones could come back in alongside Ryan Gravenberch and Dominik Szoboszlai.
Liverpool predicted XI: Alisson; Frimpong, Gomez, Van Dijk, Kerkez; Gravenberch, Jones; Salah, Szoboszlai, Wirtz; Ekitike
Doubts: Chiesa
Injured: Isak, Bradley, Leoni
Unavailable: Konate
Time and date: 5.30pm on Saturday, January 24, 2026
