Liverpool fans can officially begin circling the calendar. The Premier League’s 2025/26 fixtures have been unveiled, and with them comes a roadmap for Arne Slot’s second campaign in charge, a campaign that begins with expectation, ambition, and the pressure of champions.
The Reds kick off their title defence at home against Bournemouth on Friday 15 August. It’s a rare opening-day fixture at Anfield, the first since the 2020/21 season, and brings with it echoes of that 2019/20 campaign, another Friday night under the lights when Norwich City were put to the sword and Liverpool marched on to glory.
Milos Kerkez, reportedly on Liverpool’s radar, may yet be wearing red by the time the Cherries visit Merseyside. Narrative threads are already being pulled together, something Anfield thrives on.

Three fixtures into the new season and the intensity will already be rising. Arsenal arrive at Anfield on 30 August in a clash that offers more than three points. Last season’s title race turned on small margins, and both clubs will look to strike an early psychological blow.
Come 18 October, it’s Manchester United at home. Despite finishing miles apart in the table last term, recent Anfield meetings have ended in stalemates, a curious trend that Slot will want to correct.
Then, on 8 November, it’s the Etihad. A trip to Manchester City looms just before the international break. Liverpool were 2-0 winners there last season, and a repeat performance would offer a thunderous signal of their resolve.
Liverpool’s 2026 begins with another date against Arsenal — this time away at the Emirates on 7 January. The fixture poses a familiar problem, too: Mo Salah is expected to be away at the Africa Cup of Nations, leaving the Reds without one of their most decisive players at a pivotal moment.
One month later, on 7 February, Guardiola’s City visit Anfield. It’s a ground where the Catalan has tasted victory only once in nine years, and that was without fans present. The atmosphere this time will be anything but muted.

Merseyside derbies are always emotionally charged, but the trip to Everton’s new Bramley-Moore Dock stadium on 18 April arrives as the season draws towards its climax. Title hopes may well be on the line, as might local pride.
May is loaded with drama. On the 2nd, Liverpool travel to Old Trafford. Slot’s first signature result last season was a 3-0 demolition of United away from home — a performance that solidified belief in his approach.
On 9 May, Chelsea come to Anfield. It’s a fixture that has derailed Liverpool’s hopes in the past, but also offered catharsis. Enzo Maresca’s side could be jostling for similar prizes, adding weight to what’s already a marquee encounter.
Liverpool close out the league season at home to Brentford on 24 May. It’s the eighth time in a decade they finish at Anfield, and Kopites will hope, like last season, it ends with hands on silver.
