According to the report, Arteta is looking to strengthen the English contingent at the Emirates and Gordon is being targeted to come in and reinforce the left-wing, with Gabriel Martinelli’s potential exit looming.

Newcastle are expected to resist a move from either Liverpool or Newcastle, but ongoing financial issues may force their hand when it comes to sales this summer.

Liverpool have come close to signing Gordon before, and the Englishman reportedly remains open to a move back to Merseyside.

If Liverpool fail to qualify for the Champions League then Arsenal may gain the upper hand in the chase for Gordon, making the next few weeks even more important for Slot’s side.
