LNER has issued key guidance for Leeds United supporters travelling to London on Sunday, with services expected to be extremely busy.
According to yorkshireeveningpost.co.uk, thousands are set to travel between Leeds and London King’s Cross for the club’s first FA Cup semi-final in nearly 40 years, as Leeds face Chelsea at Wembley for a place in the final.
Fans are urged to check the LNER Travel Alerts page before setting off, arrive in good time for their departure, and travel only on the service shown on their ticket. Passengers should use their reserved seat and note that those without reservations may have to stand.
Customers are asked to be considerate of others, including people heading to the London Marathon, and to give up seats for those with reservations. LNER also requests respect for rail staff who will be working throughout the day.
To boost capacity, LNER has added extra trains and more than 2,000 additional seats in both directions between Leeds and King’s Cross, with limited availability remaining. The operator has sent its best wishes to Leeds United and hopes supporters enjoy smooth journeys, while dozens of pubs in the city plan watch-along events for those staying local.
