The Paris Saint-Germain coach answered questions from PSG TV and the media ahead of the 2024 Trophée des Champions and the match against AS Monaco at the Stade 974 in Doha on Sunday 5th January at 5.30pm (French time). Here are some extracts from the interview.

‘We have ambitious goals, of course. But we're excited about working hard to achieve them. I like what I see from my team. I like the trajectory we're on, and our mentality is now focused on wanting to do even better.’

‘We're going to be playing a lot of games over the next few weeks, often every three days. So our results won't just depend on 11 players, but on the whole squad, because we'll need everyone. For the players, this is an opportunity. I want every one of them to be ready: that's my objective.'

‘Our three goalkeepers are available and fit for tomorrow's game. There are no physical problems on their side: all three are ready to play.'

‘It was a great match for our supporters. We took the lead and then Monaco came back into the game. I think the final result showed that we were better, but tomorrow's game will be different. I hope it will be another great game, which will make our supporters and football fans happy.’

‘I have wonderful memories of the World Cup here in Qatar. We feel like we're playing at home. That's not just because some of our players have already played here with their national teams at the World Cup, but also because we feel that Paris is important here. This is the home of the club's directors.'

LEE KANG-IN

‘Since joining Paris Saint-Germain, I've seen Lee Kang-In develop and improve. He is a player who can play in many positions, as he has already shown. He is a player capable of adapting, and his qualities are obvious.’

‘It's a final against one of the best teams in Ligue 1. So we'll need to be at a very high level. But we're prepared, and we'll see tomorrow what we're capable of. It's going to be a special game, with a trophy at stake, and we're very motivated by the idea of winning.’
