Luis Enrique hails Flamengo and sends message on Filipe Luís after Club World Cup final | OneFootball

PSG head coach Luis Enrique has praised Flamengo and singled out Filipe Luís while reflecting on the Parisians’ Club World Cup triumph on penalties in December.

"Flamengo are very difficult. Has Filipe Luís renewed? He is very good," said Luis Enrique, speaking to TNT Sports Brasil.

When the sides met in Doha last year, Filipe Luís was in the final days of his contract. After a lengthy negotiation, the Flamengo coach extended for two more seasons, committing until 2027.

PSG controlled the opening 45 minutes and led through the Georgian Kvaratskhelia.

Flamengo levelled after the break through Jorginho, then balanced the game and fashioned chances to win in normal time.

With opportunities missed at both ends, the final went to penalties, where Flamengo failed with three attempts and PSG lifted the trophy.
