Luis Enrique places his faith in Willian Pacho – ‘With him, you know the match will go well’ | OneFootball

In his pre-match press conference after PSG’s draw with Strasbourg, Willian Pacho (24) was a topic of discussion for Luis Enrique. The former Spain national team boss was full of praise for the Ecuadorian international defender despite his team’s disappointing result as they dropped points on the road.

The former Eintracht Frankfurt defender has been imperious since he joined Les Parisiens in the summer of 2024. PSG signed the 24-year-old for an eyebrow raising fee of €40m. He was somewhat of an unknown quantity when he arrived at the Ligue 1 champions, but has since proved why the French capital club were willing to pay such a fee for the centre back.

Pacho has made 65 appearances since he arrived at the Parc des Princes. Talking about his centre back, Luis Enrique said, “With him, you know the match will go well, there are fewer doubts, he enhances the others.” Despite his praise for the defender, the PSG boss refused to declare him as the best defender in the world.
