Lukaku almost halves Chelsea salary for Napoli promise | OneFootball

Romelu Lukaku has agreed to practically halve his Chelsea wages in order to reunite with Antonio Conte at Napoli, claim Sky Sport Italia, but the clubs are still discussing the fee.

It has become abundantly clear to all that the Belgium international only has eyes for a move to the Partenopei this summer, with the plan of working with his former Inter coach again.

According to Sky Sport Italia transfer expert Gianluca Di Marzio, Lukaku agreed personal terms today and is ready to sign a three-year contract worth €6m per season plus performance-related bonuses.

This is a massive cut from the €11m per season salary he is currently on at Stamford Bridge.

Napoli only option in Lukaku’s eyes

Lukaku is not part of Chelsea’s plans after returning from a loan experience at Roma and is rejecting all other proposals, which are mainly coming from Saudi Arabia.

The problem remains the same, which is that Napoli are nowhere near the asking price for the striker.

It is reported in Italy that Chelsea are prepared to drop their demands from €44m to €35m plus bonuses, but the offer on the table remains €25m.

More negotiations are expected next week to whittle down the differences between them and get Lukaku the move he desires.

Napoli are also hamstrung by the presence of Victor Osimhen and hope he can make the move to PSG soon in order to raise funds.
