Napoli’s crucial game against Inter will give Romelu Lukaku another chance to break his duck against the Nerazzurri, one of only two former clubs the Belgian international has never scored against.
The 31-year-old has faced the Biscione three times since his controversial exit in 2023, struggling to make his presence felt on each of these occasions.
Lukaku first returned to the San Siro in October 2023, leading Roma’s attacking line in a game that saw the Giallorossi lose 1-0 after recording just one shot on target in 90 minutes.
The Belgian was equally ineffective in February 2024, when the two sides met again at the Stadio Olimpico in a six-goal thriller, with Simone Inzaghi’s men emerging 4-2 winners.

However, Lukaku’s worst performance against the Nerazzurri arguably came last November, as Inter were held to a 1-1 draw at home against Napoli, with the striker putting in a dismal performance against a dominant Francesco Acerbi, leading several outlets to rate him as one of the worst players on the pitch.
As pointed out by Sky Sport Italia, Inter and Manchester United remain the only two former teams the striker has yet to hurt, as he has found the net against all the other sides he has previously played for, including Chelsea, Roma, Everton and West Bromwich Albion.
While he also represented Anderlecht, he has never played against the Belgian outfit since leaving them in 2011.
