Luke McCowan is due a start. Probably not on Wednesday, but Fir Park on Sunday…

Luke McCowan has been a popular figure amongst the supporters since his £1 million move from Dundee on the last day of the summer transfer window. Luke has looked as if he’s been part of the side for years, and has impressed the supporters with his performances in the short time he’s been on the pitch so far.

He’s what you would call a Celtic type of player

He’s what you would call a Celtic type of player. He’s good on the ball, likes to make things happen, and knows the way to goal. Frustratingly though for Luke and the supporters is that he hasn’t had enough time on the park. Indeed he’s yet to start a competitive game, but that can’t be too far away.

In fact I’d say he should be starting Sunday’s clash against Motherwell at Fir Park. A starting berth for Wednesday evenings trip to Bergamo to take on Atalanta seems unlikely for the former Dundee man, but Sunday is the ideal time for Luke to make his first start for Celtic.

Tired bodies in the middle of the park

There will no doubt be tired bodies in the middle of the park come Sunday after a midweek Champions League game, so Brendan could be looking to start a pair of fresh legs in what is a vital match for the club. And Luke McCowan may well be in his thoughts for such an eventuality.

He’ll be itching to prove his worth, so why not hand him a start? If anyone deserves a chance it’s Luke. Let’s hope he gets that opportunity this weekend.
