Lyon reach €15m agreement with Liverpool to sign Tyler Morton | OneFootball

Lyon and Liverpool have reached an agreement worth €15m for the Ligue 1 side to sign defensive midfielder Tyler Morton (22), according to a report from L’Equipe. Lyon, who face Bayern Munich this Saturday in a preseason friendly game, have reportedly reached an agreement with the Premier League champions over a €10m transfer fee with a further €5m in performance-related add-ons. Liverpool have also included a 20 % sell-on clause.

Morton is expected to arrive in Lyon last week to sign a five-year deal with Paulo Fonseca’s team. Lyon’s scouting department has reportedly identified the England youth international as an ideal fit to bolster the Portuguese head coach’s options. Lyon were in need of a versatile midfielder in the wake of the summer exits of Jordan Veretout and Johann Lepenant. Les Gones also scoured the market for a long-term replacement for Nemanja Matic and Corentin Tolisso.
