Lyon set to seal loan deal for Roman Yaremchuk

Olympique Lyonnais are close to finalising the signing of Ukrainian international Roman Yaremchuk (30), according to a report from L’Équipe. The striker is expected to be loaned from Olympiakos, with a non-mandatory purchase option of around €4m.
Yaremchuk, who is highly regarded by OL manager Paulo Fonseca, has extensive experience in European football. After notable spells at KAA Gent, Benfica, Club Brugge and Valencia CF, he moved to Greece in the summer of 2024. He made 33 appearances in all competitions during the 2024-25 season, proving decisive on 14 occasions, scoring 10 goals and delivering four assists.
Still searching for his first league goal this season (11 matches, two starts), he nevertheless scored four in the four Greek Cup ties he played in. At 30, Yaremchuk is now set to discover the fifth country of his career and become the first Ukrainian player to wear the colours of Les Gones.
