Manchester City have gone top of the Premier League thanks to goals scored after defeating Burnley at Turf Moor.
The Citizens took the lead just five minutes into the game against the Clarets in a move that started with City playing out from the back against Burnley's high press.
City were easily able to escape before Jérémy Doku set Erling Haaland free on goal with the Norwegian keeping his cool before finishing past Martin Dubravka.
From that point on you would have expected City to add to their tally, especially with goal difference potentially proving crucial this season.
However, City's attack was blunted by Burnley's defence with Dubravka denying the in-form Nico O'Reilly while Rayan Aït-Nouri had a good chance that went over.
In the end, a solitary goal was sufficient for Pep Guardiola's team to not only earn all three points but go ahead of Arsenal at long last in the title race.
It's also a result that ensures that Scott Parker's Burnley team will be in the Championship next season with now only one relegation spot left in the league.
