Man City, unbeaten in seven games across all competitions, can move top of the table - albeit potentially only for a couple of hours - with a win over the Toffees as current leaders Arsenal are not in action at Fulham until later on Saturday.

The omens are good for City as Pep Guardiola has an excellent record against David Moyes, winning the last five encounters between the two managers, and will be hopeful that his side can build on their hard-fought win over Brentford before the international break.

Everton also went into the break on the back of a win, coming from behind to beat Crystal Palace at home and end their 19-game unbeaten run in the process.

Date, kick-off time and venue

Manchester City vs Everton is scheduled for a 3pm BST kick-off today on Saturday October 18, 2025.

The match will take place at the Etihad Stadium in Manchester.

Man City vs Everton team news

Guardiola was handed a massive boost at the start of the week as Norway released Erling Haaland from international duty earlier than expected.

The striker, who netted a hat-trick against Israel, should be fresh as he bid to continue his superb start to the season and bolster his bid to claim yet another Golden Boot award.

City are without Rodri due to a hamstring injury, though Mateo Kovacic is back and Omar Marmoush and Rayan Ait-Nouri both close to returning. Abdukodir Khusanov is still out.

Premier League rules stipulate that in-form Everton loanee Jack Grealish cannot feature against his parent club.

Tyler Dibling is an option to replace Grealish in a move that would see Iliman Ndiaye switch over to the left wing, or Dwight McNeil could be handed a rare Premier League start.

Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall is available again after suspension, while Jarrad Branthwaite and Merlin Rohl are back in training. Michael Keane and Nathan Patterson are doubts.

Man City vs Everton prediction

Man City have been going under the radar ever so quietly since the last international break, winning five of seven games across all competitions.

Everton were rather fortunate against Palace before the break and they can expect to be punished by an in-form Haaland if they offer up similar chances.

The absence of Grealish will also take away a lot of their attacking thrust so we expect City to comfortably claim all three points here.

Man City to win, 2-0.

Head to head (h2h) history and results

You have to go all the way back to January 2017 for the last time Everton beat City in any competition, and December 2010 for the Toffees’ last victory at the Etihad.

That said, the Merseyside outfit have earned a point on two of their previous three visits, including last season when Jordan Pickford saved a penalty from Haaland.
