Manchester City are without a number of key defenders for Saturday’s Premier League trip to Nottingham Forest.
City meet high-flying Forest in Saturday’s early kick-off, with Pep Guardiola’s side just a point behind the Nottingham outfit in the Premier League table.
Three points away at one of the best teams in the league would be some statement of intent but that will of course be easier said than done.
Guardiola is without most of his first-choice central defence. Nathan Ake underwent surgery on a fractured foot injury, joining the likes of John Stones and Manuel Akanji on the sidelines.
Still, the likes of Erling Haaland, Ruben Dias and Savinho were at least afforded something of a rest as City beat Plymouth 3-1 in the FA Cup last weekend, which should help.
Rodri could return before the end of the season after stepping up his return from knee surgery but is unlikely to be rushed back into action at any point.
“The fans must know they are not the only ones who are excited,” said Guardiola last week.
"But one step at a time, we don't have to make stupid decisions to come back weeks earlier and (suffer) steps back. It's good but still he's not close to coming back, I would say.
"But he's touching the ball and he was in the locker room making touches with the players. He feels confident, he feels more happy.”
Man City predicted XI: Ederson; Nunes, Dias, Khusanov, Gvardiol; Nico, Kovacic; Savinho, Marmoush, Doku, Haaland
Injured: Ake, Stones, Rodri, Bobb, Akankji
