Man United and Arsenal are set to make formal approaches for Leicester City hotshot Jeremy Monga

Leicester City are currently staring down the barrel of League One football, after their 1-0 home defeat to Swansea City has seen them plunge further into imminent danger.

Leicester's downfall over the years has been truly remarkable, and with the Foxes potentially facing a second consecutive relegation and third in four years, things could yet get worse for them.

Just less than a decade ago, Leicester lifted the Premier League trophy against the odds, with the likes of Jamie Vardy, Riyad Mahrez, N'Golo Kante, Wes Morgan, and Kasper Schmeichel starring in one of sport's greatest fairy tales.

However, all good things come to an end, and Leicester are learning that in one of the most brutal ways possible, with third-tier football looking increasingly likely with each passing game.

Regardless of which division they will be playing their football in next year, it's set to be a turbulent summer at the King Power Stadium, with many exits likely, with the Foxes set to lose one of their star assets and brightest prospects in the country.

16-year-old Jeremy Monga is a player who has long been tracked by clubs in the Premier League, having made his professional debut for Leicester aged just 15 years and 271 days, becoming the second-youngest player to ever play in the English top-flight behind Arsenal's Ethan Nwaneri.

At the beginning of this campaign, he also became the youngest player to ever score in the Championship at just 16 years and 37 days old when he netted away against Preston North End.

An England youth international, Monga, despite Leicester's woes, has featured sporadically for the Foxes this season, playing just over 800 league minutes, and is likely to leave the club this summer.

According to TEAMtalk's Graeme Bailey, Manchester United and Arsenal have joined Manchester City among numerous other top-flight sides in the pursuit of the starlet, and are set to make formal approaches for the youngster this summer.

Monga has yet to sign his first professional deal with Leicester, having to wait until July for when he turns 17, yet it looks increasingly likely that it won't be with the Foxes where he signs his first professional terms.

The likes of Liverpool, Tottenham Hotspur, Newcastle United, Aston Villa, Brighton & Hove Albion and Brentford have also all unsurprisingly shown interest in the youngster, whilst clubs across the continent, such as Real Madrid, Juventus and Borussia Dortmund are reportedly tracking his progress.

Leicester are also reportedly keen to retain Monga and tie him down to a deal for when he turns 17, with the promise of regular first-team football, something which he is unlikely to get just yet in the top-flight.

In any instance, the Foxes face an uphill task of trying to convince their starlet to stay, and with both Man United and Arsenal joining a whole host of European giants in the queue for Monga's signature.

The news of more Premier League interest in Monga will likely be one of the least of Leicester's issues at the moment, which in itself is indicative of the position they currently find themselves in.

With just four games to go to secure survival, Leicester sit four points from safety, with Oxford United and Portsmouth both winning at the weekend, as they were defeated at home to Swansea.

Draws are no longer enough for the Foxes, who simply must start picking up three points imminently with time running out.

With games against Portsmouth, Hull, Millwall, and Blackburn remaining, each game must be treated as a final by the Foxes, otherwise their fate will be sealed.
