Manchester United could demand as much as £60m to sell winger Marcus Rashford this summer, a report has claimed.

Rashford joined Aston Villa on loan during the winter transfer window after a public clash with United head coach Ruben Amorim and has enjoyed his time at Villa Park so far, racking up four assists in nine appearances for Unai Emery's side.

The details of Villa's agreement with United are not clear. Neither club ever confirmed an option to make the move permanent in the summer but reports suggested Villa can sign Rashford outright for £40m at the end of the season.

However, fresh claims in the English press have placed Rashford's price tag at £60m, with The Star stating United have raised their demands after seeing their winger impress in the Premier League once again.

United will look to conclude a deal with Villa after Amorim ruled out welcoming the academy graduate back to Old Trafford. The pair clashed behind the scenes and Amorim publicly confessed he was not happy with Rashford's work rate, and the relationship between the two appears irreparable.

The Red Devils are hoping to raise as much money as possible ahead of a summer transfer window which could be incredibly expensive.

Amorim is expected to oversee a significant squad rebuild but faces the challenge of waiting until sales are made before being able to pick up reinforcements. The likes of RB Leipzig's Xavi Simons, Juventus' Kenan Yildiz and Borussia Dortmund's Felix Nmecha have all been touted as targets, while Newcastle United's Sean Longstaff has once again been linked.

Further forward, a four-man striker shortlist has been drawn up, while United are also looking to bolster in a handful of defensive positions to build a squad better-suited to Amorim's tactical demands.
