Manchester United have confirmed the signing of 27-year-old Julia Zigiotti Olme from Bayern Munich.

The Sweden international joins on a two-year deal after a short spell with the German giants, where she won a domestic double.

The defensive midfielder has already had a taste of English football from her time at Brighton between 2022 and 2024.

“I am so happy to be here and so happy to get started and to join this family,” she said after joining.

“I have been watching Manchester United in the last couple of years and having seen what they have been doing, I am very impressed.

“They are a team that fits me and my style, meeting the players has been great. They were like a family and it was a fantastic way to start.”

Newly promoted London City Lionesses, meanwhile, have added Italy international Elena Linari to their ranks.

Linari featured in all five of Le Azzure’s Euros games and was named in the UEFA’s Team of the Tournament.

It is another statement signing from Michelle Kang’s Lionesses, who earned promotion from the WSL 2 last season with 43 points.

Liverpool have confirmed contract extensions for both midfielder Fuka Nagano and forward Mia Enderby as the club aims to build on their seventh-place finish in the top flight.

Elsewhere, West Ham have announced the addition of Japan international Yu Endo.

The 27-year-old comes to England after a 15-year association with Urawa Reds, winning back-to-back league titles as well as successive AFC Women’s Champions League trophies.

Brighton’s Melina Loeck has extended her stay on the south coast, but will go on loan to Hammarby until January.

The 25-year-old has made 16 appearances in all competitions for Albion since joining in January 2024.

And the Lionesses are set to be inducted into the National Football Museum Hall of Fame following their success in Switzerland.

The entire squad, including head coach Sarina Wiegman, will receive the honour – recognising their efforts in retaining the Euros title in addition to their impact on the development of women’s football.
