Manchester City and Arsenal have confirmed their starting lineups ahead of today’s massive Premier League match at the Etihad Stadium. League leaders Arsenal take on an in-form City side who have impressively won their past three matches in all competitions. Pep Guardiola’s side have beaten Arsenal, Liverpool, and Chelsea by a combined aggregate score of 9-0 to show that they are beginning to click into gear for the run-in. Mikel Arteta’s side are six points clear of City at the top of the table, but City do have a game in hand on Arsenal. Today’s match is massive, as if one of the sides picks up three points today, they may seize control of the title race.
For Manchester City, they have two players unavailable for today’s match due to injury. Josko Gvardiol, Ruben Dias, and John Stones are all ruled out of today’s match. Football London has reported that John Stones could be fit for Manchester City’s next Premier League fixture against Burnley. However, John Stones made the bench for today’s match to prove that report wide of the mark. Ruben Dias is ruled out until next month, while Josko Gvardiol isn’t expected back until the very end of this season.
Here are both team’s starting lineups for today’s huge match at the Etihad.
Pep Guardiola has named an unchanged starting eleven from last weekend’s 3-0 win over Chelsea at Stamford Bridge. Nico O’Reilly starts after being deemed fit to play following an injury scare last weekend. Other than that, there is a familiar look to the City starting eleven for today’s match. Pep Guardiola seems to have found his best lineup at the business end of the season.
Starting lineup: Gianluigi Donnarumma, Matheus Nunes, Abdukodir Khusanov, Marc Guehi, Nico O’Reilly, Rodri, Bernardo Silva, Rayan Cherki, Antoine Semenyo, Jeremy Doku, Erling Haaland.
Substitutes: Trafford, Reijnders, Stones, Ake, Marmoush, Nico, Ait-Nouri, Savinho, Foden.
