Pep Guardiola has revealed Manchester City will celebrate their FA Cup final win over Chelsea with a trophy parade to honour the men’s and women’s teams in what promises to be a remarkable occasion for the club.
Speaking in a press conference after Saturday’s 1-0 victory at Wembley, Guardiola confirmed he would not be celebrating with so much as “one beer” on Saturday night – with his focus immediately turning to upcoming monumental Premier League fixtures against Bournemouth and Aston Villa.
Manchester City have since confirmed the full details of the event, which will celebrate the achievements of the men’s, women’s and academy teams across a season that has delivered the Carabao Cup, FA Cup, Women’s Super League and the FA Youth Cup – following last week’s 2-1 victory over Manchester United in the final.
Pep Guardiola ends TNT Sports interview abruptly after Manchester City future question
Guardiola’s post-Chelsea response to the question of celebrations was characteristically focused, with City still fighting for a domestic treble in the final week of the season.
“Not even one beer tonight,” he said. “Next Monday, after Aston Villa, we are going to celebrate it with the women’s team. The club said to me, a parade in Manchester because it must be celebrated, both teams.”
The specific mention of the women’s team is telling. Guardiola was keen to frame the occasion as a collective celebration rather than one belonging solely to the men’s side, reflecting the remarkable season the women’s side have had in claiming the WSL title.
The open-top bus parade will take place on Monday 25 May, with the build-up beginning in Manchester’s Northern Quarter from 16:00 UK.
The route will travel through Ancoats and along Ashton New Road before concluding with a final celebratory moment outside the Etihad Stadium at the Colin Bell Stand Reception.
Following the parade, an after-party will take place at Co-op Live – the UK’s flagship live entertainment venue – featuring live music, entertainment, player interviews from both the men’s and women’s squads as well as special guests.

Fans will not be permitted entry to Co-op Live after 17:00 and will be unable to attend both the parade and the after-party event.
No tickets are required for the parade, with supporters able to join at various points along the route. Tickets for the Co-op Live event will go on sale from Monday, with a priority window for men’s and women’s season ticket members and Cityzens Matchday and Junior Members.
Monday’s celebrations will mark the achievements of the men’s, women’s and academy teams across the 2025-26 season.
For the men’s side, the Carabao Cup claimed in March and Saturday’s FA Cup represent a domestic double, with league meetings with Bournemouth and Aston Villa still to come as Guardiola and co retain slim hopes of a third piece of silverware of the campaign.
It is the kind of week that captures everything Manchester City have built under Guardiola – and the manager’s insistence on including the women’s team and the academy in the same breath as the men’s first-team is a reminder of why the culture at the club is so consistently cited as something unique. Monday of next week in Manchester promises to be quite a day.
