In a recent report, Fichajes mentioned that Manchester City are keeping tabs on Barcelona youngster Dro Fernandez. It has been stated that the Mancunian club are eyeing a move to bring the Spanish playmaker next year.

Fernandez’s Impressive Rise In Spanish Football

Fernandez has managed to break into Barcelona’s senior team this season and has managed to catch the eye at times for them in the final third. The 17-year-old has made two appearances for the Catalan outfit in this campaign, securing one assist in the process across all fronts.

The Spanish talent is currently among the best young playmakers in his homeland. Hence, Man City would do well to bring him on board this January or at the end of this campaign.

His current contract at the Nou Camp will run out in the summer of 2027. Therefore, Man City could potentially sign him on a cut-price deal next summer.

Manchester City Are Keeping Tabs On Fernandez: Is He A Prospect For The Future?

Fernandez is a good dribbler with the ball at his feet and has got the eye to play some decisive passes in the final third. He can shoot the ball with power from long range.

However, the Spanish talent is still quite raw and would need time to prove his worth as a consistent performer at the highest level. Furthermore, there are some concerns over whether he can cope with the physical side and high intensity of the Premier League if Man City manage to get a deal done for him next year.

We can expect Fernandez to add more firepower to Pep Guardiola’s attack in the long run. He is already good enough to serve as a good rotational piece in Man City’s match-day squad.

At 17, the future looks quite promising for Fernandez as long as he continues to improve with each year. He has got the potential to be a world-class player in his position someday. Therefore, he would be a great fit for Guardiola’s needs in the long run. Fernandez is undoubtedly a prospect to watch out for in the future, so the Mancunian giants should focus on stepping up their efforts to land him this winter or at the end of this campaign.
