Pep Guardiola and Manchester City have now found out their opponents for the fourth round of this season’s FA Cup following a blistering start to their competition.

The Etihad Stadium was treated to a staggering 10 goals from Manchester City in the third round as they dismissed of League One side Exeter City via a 10-1 scoreline to open up their account in the competition for the season.

The half-time whistle blew with Pep Lijnders’ side – coaching the outfit with Guardiola serving a one-match touchline ban – leading the Football League visitors 4-0 thanks to goals from Rodri and Max Alleyne, as well as two very unfortunate own goals.

The second-half would bring more of the same one-way traffic, and before the hour-mark alone it was 6-0 thanks to temporary captain Rico Lewis and Antoine Semenyo – striking on his debut for the club.

A further three efforts would hit the back of the Exeter net thanks to Tijjani Reijnders, Nico O’Reilly, and Ryan McAidoo, before George Birch would give the travelling faithful something to cheer about with a screamer from distance giving James Trafford no chance.

But it would be double-figures before the afternoon was up, as Rico Lewis made it a brace for himself at the Etihad Stadium to put the icing on a very sweet cake for Manchester City at home.

Now, as City look to make it all the way to the FA Cup final once again under Pep Guardiola, it has been confirmed that the Catalan coach and his players will take on League Two’s Salford City or Swindon Town in the fourth round of the competition at the Etihad Stadium.
