Manchester City expecting transfer offer for Ederson | OneFootball

Manchester City are expecting to receive an offer from Galatasaray for Ederson.

The goalkeeper is a top target for the Turkish side as Galatasaray seek a replacement for Fernando Muslera. The veteran departed Galatasaray this summer to sign for Estudiantes, after 14 years with the Süper Lig side.

Ederson is an option for the Istanbul outfit, as part of an ambitious recruitment drive this summer. Galatasaray have signed Ederson’s former teammate, Leroy Sane, from Bayern Munich and are closing in on the permanent capture of Victor Osimhen from Napoli.

The 31-year-old has been with Manchester City since 2017 and has been a central part of the club’s success under Pep Guardiola.

Ederson has won six Premier League titles and the Champions League among his honours, in addition to three Premier League Golden Glove accolades.

City have started contingency plans with a bid to re-sign James Trafford from Burnley. Newcastle United had been pursuing a deal for Trafford, but the 22-year-old is prioritising a return to the Etihad.

City have a buy-back option on their former academy graduate, who has impressed since leaving the club to sign for Burnley in 2023.

Last season he was a key part of the club’s promotion back to the Premier League, recording 29 clean sheets, and setting a new Football League record of just 16 goals conceded all campaign.
