Manchester City, Arsenal and Chelsea are closely monitoring FC Porto teenager Oskar Pietuszewski following a viral goal against Benfica recently, according to a new report.
The 17-year-old Polish attacker has emerged as one of the most talked-about young players in Portuguese football of late, drawing interest from a series of clubs in England.
Executives at the Etihad Stadium will progress with their rebuild of Pep Guardiola’s squad in the upcoming transfer window, having revamped the first-team ranks significantly since Hugo Viana replaced Txiki Begiristain as sporting director last summer.
There remain question marks over Guardiola’s future at the Etihad Stadium but having brushed off talk of an exit this summer, the Catalan is expected to retain the managerial position into the 2026-27 campaign and be backed heavily in the transfer market.

According to reports from Portuguese outlet O Jogo, as translated and relayed by Sport Witness, scouts from several Premier League clubs have been following his progress for some time, with interest intensifying following a standout moment in Porto’s clash with Benfica at the Estádio da Luz.
In that game, Pietuszewski created an incredible moment of individual brilliance that quickly spread across social media.
The winger got the ball on the flank, ran at the defence and dribbled past veteran centre-back Nicolas Otamendi before finishing with confidence. The goal went viral online, helping the teenager’s reputation grow even more across Europe.
Pietuszewski’s rise to fame in Portugal has been quick. FC Porto signed the winger from Jagiellonia in January for €8 million, plus upto €2 million in bonuses. This business was a big investment for a player who was just starting out in his professional career.
The teenager has made a big impact in Portugal in a short amount of time. In his first eight appearances for Porto, he has made important contributions that have improved his reputation in the team.
In his first game against Vitoria de Guimaraes, he won a penalty and forced his opponents to finish with 10 men. In subsequent matches, he provided an assist against Rio Ave and scored against Arouca.
In his last four league games, he has scored two goals and provided one assist. These performances have helped Porto cope with the absence of Samu. The young player has become more crucial in recent weeks, showing both creativity and directness from wide positions.
The development has not gone unnoticed in England. Arsenal were reportedly keeping an eye on Pietuszewski for a while as part of their ongoing plan to find the best young attacking players in Europe. Chelsea are monitoring young players in the same age group and Pietuszewski fits the profile they have been targeting in recent windows.
It is also said that Manchester City are keeping an eye on Pietuszewski. City have a large network of scouts in Europe who frequently identify young players early in their careers. The Polish winger’s technical skills and direct attacking style have caught the eye of these scouts.
The CIES Football Observatory, as noted in the same report, recently updated its estimate of Pietuszewski’s transfer value to €20 million (£17.3 million). That value is already double the guaranteed fee Porto agreed to pay Jagiellonia for his transfer.
Despite the increasing interest, Porto are under no immediate pressure to sell one of their most highly-rated stars. The teenager’s contract has a €60 million release clause and the Portuguese club consider him a long-term project, with plenty of room for growth.
Poland’s National Team have also noticed his rise. Head coach Jan Urban recently said that Pietuszewski could become an important player for his nation if his development maintains its current trajectory.

Urban said: “He can become a great figure in Polish football but of course, it depends on him. He has to take advantage of the opportunity.
“From what I have seen, Oskar has his head in the right place. The important thing now is that he continues to take steps calmly in Porto’s first team.”
The primary objective right now for Porto is to help the player grow rather than entertain any transfer speculation. However, with top Premier League clubs already keeping an eye on his progress and his market value rising quickly, Pietuszewski’s rise implies his name will continue to come up in transfer discussions as his career advances.
