Today has seen Manchester City confirm their 28-man squad for their preseason tour of Asia. Enzo Maresca’s side will play three friendlies against Inter Milan, the K-League All-Stars and Atletico Madrid. The preseason tour will give Maresca a closer look at his squad as he attempts to implement his tactical ideas and philosophies ahead of the 2026-27 season. Defenders.

Rico Lewis, Matty Henderson-Hall, Max Alleyne, Abdukodir Khusanov, Vitor Reis, Stephen Mfuni, Josko Gvardiol, Kaden Braithwaite, Rayan Ait-Nouri.

Midfielders.

Nico Gonzalez, Mateo Kovacic, Tijjani Reijnders, Xavier Parker, Floyd Samba, Jaden Heskey, Divine Mukasa, Ryan McAidoo, Claudio Echeverri, Phil Foden.

A host of City players who participated in the World Cup will link up with their teammates while two England internationals haven’t travelled.

On their official website, Manchester City confirmed that the players that participated in the 2026 FIFA World Cup beyond the quarter-final stage will not take part in their preseason tour of Asia. The players who exited the competition at the Round of 16 stage will link up with their teammates in Asia but they haven’t travelled today.

Jack Grealish has not been named in Manchester City’s preseason tour squad as he continues to work his way back to full fitness after injury. Kalvin Phillips also missed out as he appears to be on the verge of completing a loan move to Sheffield United. Alex James and Simon Bajkowski have reported for the Manchester Evening News that Phillips is close to finalising a loan move to the Championship side.

Manchester City will play their first friendly of their preseason tour against Inter Milan on Saturday. That match will be the first real glimpse of Enzo Maresca’s side.
