Heading into the summer transfer window, it seems that change is on the cards for Manchester City. City look set to be busy in the transfer market in terms of players coming into the club and departing. One player who could be on the move this summer is Savinho. A new report states that City are open to selling the Brazilian international this summer, and in all honesty, that may be the best move for all parties concerned.

Manchester City are reportedly open to selling Savinho this summer.

Bruno Andrade has reported for ESPN Brasil that Manchester City are reportedly open to selling Savinho this summer. Furthermore, Andrade reports that the City board has changed its stance regarding Savinho’s importance to the City squad. Savinho is no longer viewed as an important member of the Manchester City first team. Savinho’s performances have been inconsistent this season, and his playing time has dropped off in recent months. Bruno Andrade adds that a summer move to another Premier League club may be on the cards for Savinho, with City set to ask for a transfer fee of between €50-60 million to sell the talented, but frustrating, young winger.

The ESPN Brasil report doesn’t come as a major surprise, and a summer move may be exactly what Savinho needs.

It isn’t a major shock to learn that Manchester City are open to selling Savinho this summer. While Savinho’s potential and talent are clear to see, on occasions, he remains a frustrating figure in the City squad. The areas that Savinho needs to improve are well-known. His end product and decision-making let him down too often. Unless he tidies up these areas of his game, the Brazilian international will always remain on the periphery of the City first team, especially when you consider that Jeremy Doku, Antoine Semenyo, Phil Foden, and Rayan Cherki can all play out wide and are all far more damaging players than Savinho.

A summer move away from Manchester City may be exactly what Savinho needs. The pressure to perform when selected is fierce at City. That environment may not be what Savinho needs to grow as a player. A summer move to a club where the young winger can be a first team regular and away from the pressure that comes with playing at an elite club may be what suits Savinho’s career. Who that club could be isn’t immediately clear at this stage. But given his talent, and potential, suitors will emerge for the Brazilian international this summer.

Manchester City are reportedly open to selling Savinho this summer. That news isn’t a major surprise, and it may be best for both parties if City do sell the Brazilian international. That way, Savinho can have an opportunity elsewhere, and City can pocket a tidy transfer fee for a player who too often flatters to deceive at Manchester City.
