Liverpool are in talks with Manchester City academy midfielder Xavier Parker’s representatives over a summer move.
The 16-year-old is set to leave Man City this month and move to Liverpool. He grew up supporting the Anfield club and wants to play for them.
The teenage sensation is a midfield powerhouse who can play in several different roles.
Parker averaged a goal or assist every 76.5 minutes for Man City under-18s last season, becoming the second-youngest player to debut for them in the UEFA Youth League.
Liverpool have been monitoring the youngster for a while, and they are now finally set to secure his services.
He is an excellent finisher and passer, and the Reds are convinced that he has what it takes to become a first-team regular in the near future.
Some people have tipped Parker to follow in Rio Ngumoha’s footsteps. He has established himself in the Liverpool senior squad after joining as a 16-year-old from Chelsea in 2024.
New manager Andoni Iraola will concentrate on strengthening his ranks in the coming weeks, but he will also monitor the youth teams for players with huge potential.
Parker will be eager to join Liverpool’s first-team squad and prove himself sooner rather than later.
