Manchester City have submitted an offer to sign Marseille goalkeeper Geronimo Rulli, according to Foot Mercato.
An agreement between the two clubs is not expected to be difficult, with the 34-year-old’s contract expiring next year in June.
The Ligue 1 outfit have already identified a replacement for Rulli, with Toulouse’s Guillaume Restes reportedly their top target.
Rulli was Marseille’s first-choice goalkeeper last season. He featured in 39 games across all competitions, keeping nine clean sheets in the process.
The Argentine boasts plenty of experience, having played for Real Sociedad, Villarreal and Ajax in the past.
He also remained on the books of Man City in 2016 without making an appearance.
Enzo Maresca’s side are in the market for a new goalkeeper with James Trafford on the verge of joining Leeds United.
Trafford returned to the Etihad Stadium under the impression he would be the club’s first choice for the 2025-26 season.
But the England international dropped down to number two after the Citizens signed Gianluigi Donnarumma late in the transfer window.
Trafford is leaving the Premier League club in search of regular game time, but Rulli is happy to play second fiddle to Donnarumma.
City sealed a move for Elliot Anderson in a blockbuster £116 million deal earlier this summer.
They want to add another midfielder and are chasing a transfer for Ayyoub Bouaddi.
City have agreed personal terms with the highly-rated teenager but they are yet to agree a transfer fee with Lille.
