Manchester City take on Burnley today at the Etihad Stadium. The Premier League fixture is an opportunity for Pep Guardiola’s side to continue their recent good form. They are unbeaten in their past four matches and have only conceded one goal in those matches. City will take on a Burnley who have picked up four points in their opening five games. Scott Parker’s side will be hoping to avoid relegation this season after a dominant 24/25 campaign in the Championship saw them promoted in style. Kyle Walker will return to the Etihad for the first time after leaving Manchester City in the summer.

Here is the latest City injury news and my predicted City starting eleven for today’s match.

Latest Manchester City injury news.

Rayan Cherki, Rayan Ait-Nouri and Omar Marmoush will miss today’s match due to injury. However, it does seem that Rayan Cherki could be back in the City squad next week. The French international has overcome the injury that has seen him miss Manchester City’s past five matches.

Pep Guardiola told the media yesterday that Erling Haaland is available for today’s match. Haaland was rested for Manchester City’s 2-nil win over Huddersfield Town in the Carabao Cup earlier this week. Mateo Kovacic could return to the City squad today as per Pep Guardiola’s update yesterday.

Predicted City starting eleven.

Gianluigi Donnarumma: I expect to start in goal today for Manchester City.

Matheus Nunes: With Abdukodir Khusanov out, Nunes is my pick to start at right-back.

Ruben Dias: Dias will likely start in the heart of Manchester City’s defence at the Etihad.

Josko Gvardiol: Gvardiol was another player who was rested against Huddersfield Town. He should start against Burnley.

Nico O’Reilly: Fresh off signing a contract extension, Nico O’Reilly should start at left-back.

Rodri: I expect Rodri to start in midfield for Pep Guardiola’s side today.

Tijjani Reijnders: Reijnders has been growing into life in the Premier League. He should start in midfield today.

Phil Foden: Foden has been brilliant for Manchester City in their past four matches. He is almost a lock to start against Burnley.

Savinho: I expect Bernardo Silva to be rested today for Manchester City’s Champions League fixture against Monaco. That should see Savinho start on the right wing after his good performance against Huddersfield Town.

Jeremy Doku: Doku is an automatic selection on the left wing for today’s match.

Erling Haaland: Haaland is fit and available for selection and is a certainty to start against Scott Parker’s side.
