Manchester City travel to West London to face Brentford on Sunday, with manager Pep Guardiola on the verge of a historic milestone.
A victory would be his 250th top-flight win with the club. He would reach the landmark in just 349 games, 74 games faster than any other manager in history.
To secure the win, however, City must find a way to turn their dominance into results. They have failed to win their last two away league games despite leading for over two hours combined. They face a confident and clinical Brentford side, and a professional performance will be needed to get back to winning ways on the road.
Pep Guardiola is expected to recall Sávio and Bernardo Silva to the starting XI after resting them in midweek. His biggest concern, however, is the fitness of Rodri. The Spaniard is having his minutes carefully managed after a knee injury and is unlikely to complete the full 90 minutes. The team remains without the injured trio of Abdukodir Khusanov, Omar Marmoush, and Rayan Aït-Nouri. Phil Foden will be a key player, having scored six of his seven career Premier League goals against Brentford at this stadium.
Manchester City predicted XI: Donnarumma; Stones, Dias, Gvardiol, O’Reilly; Rodri; Reijnders, Foden, Savinho, Doku; Haaland
The Premier League fixture will be played at the Gtech Community Stadium on Sunday, 5 October 2025, with kick-off scheduled for 4:30 pm BST.
The match will be broadcast live in the UK on Sky Sports Main Event, Sky Sports Premier League, and Sky Sports Ultra HDR.
