Manchester City have nine games left in the Premier League season to secure Champions League qualification for next season. Up next for Pep Guardiola’s side is Leicester City at the Etihad Stadium. It’s another crucial fixture for Manchester City and they simply must beat Leicester City  tomorrow night.

Manchester City will enter tomorrow night’s match off the back of an impressive 2-1 win over Bournemouth. City’s performance wasn’t a vintage performance by Manchester City’s standards, but the fight, will to win, and determination shown by the City players was impressive. Those traits will be needed over the closing stages of this season from the Manchester City players. Based on their performance against Bournemouth it appears that they are up for the fight that lies ahead.

Pep Guardiola spoke of the fight ahead of his team during his pre-game press conference ahead of tomorrow night’s match. Speaking about the challenge that lies ahead of this team Guardiola told the media: “This is the first time, along with the first season I was here nine years ago, that we have to fight to qualify for the Champions League. We have nine games left and we know what we have to do. Five at home, four away, we have to win our home games and we are going to try.

Manchester City’s fight to qualify for next season’s Champions League continues tomorrow night. They will face a Leicester City side who will be desperate for three points to keep their slim hopes of avoiding relegation alive. On paper, the game should be a formality for Pep Guardiola’s side. But as we have been reminded of countless times this season no game is a formality. The Manchester City players will need to fight for the results they need and that fight continues tomorrow night.
