Chelsea thrashed Austrian side St. Polten 6-0 on Tuesday, while Manchester United maintained their perfect record with a hard-fought 2-1 win over PSG.

There is no place for any Arsenal players in the squad, after they surrendered a 2-0 lead to lose 3-2 to Bayern Munich.

Elsewhere, there were also important victories for Barcelona, Lyon and Juventus.

Below, SheKicks gives our Team of the Week for Matchday 3 of the Women’s Champions League.

Women’s Champions League Team of the Week for Matchday 3

Goalkeeper

Lowiese Seynhaeve – OH Leuven

It is rare for a goalkeeper to concede three goals and make the Team of the Week despite a 3-0 defeat.

However, OH Leuven goalkeeper Lowiese Seynhaeve made 14 saves against Barcelona to prevent a potential rout.

Seynhaeve gets the nod over Safia Middleton-Patel, who impressed for Manchester United despite only stepping in on the morning of the match in place of the injured Phallon Tullis-Joyce.

Defenders

Jayde Riviere – Manchester United

Provided the assist for Melvine Malard to score Manchester United’s first-ever goal at Old Trafford in the Women’s Champions League.

Jayde Riviere was cool and composed in defence, which was important at a time when PSG put pressure on the Red Devils.

She made four tackles, five recoveries and was not dribbled past once during the 90 minutes.

Irene Paredes – Barcelona

Irene Paredes will face much tougher matches than OH Leuven, but she was still Barcelona’s standout performer during their dominant victory.

The Spanish international completed the scoring off Mapi Leon’s set-piece delivery, in an impressive display where she completed more passes than any other player (87).

Although OH Leuven lacked quality up front, she still had to maintain her concentration. She managed well with 10 recoveries, two interceptions and four clearances.

Maria Mendez – Real Madrid

Real Madrid defender Maria Mendez assisted Caroline Weir’s last-gasp equaliser against Paris FC on Tuesday night.

The centre-back was excellent at both ends of the field. She had five touches in the opponent’s box and made seven passes into the final third as Madrid searched for the equaliser.

At the other end, she made seven recoveries and completed three tackles.

Selma Bacha – Lyon

Lyon maintained their perfect record in the Women’s Champions League this season with an impressive 3-1 win over Wolfsburg.

Left back Selma Bacha provided an excellent display, providing the assist for Ada Hegerberg’s second goal of the night.

She was a constant outlet for Lyon, with 126 touches of the ball, a 100% successful dribble rate, and completed five out of her eight attempted long balls.

Midfielders

Catarina Macario – Chelsea

Chelsea produced some eye-catching stats in their 6-0 win over St. Polten, with Catarina Macario playing a huge role in their victory.

Macario scored two goals, created five chances and touched the ball 13 times inside the opponent’s box.

She was a constant outlet for the Blues with 101 touches of the ball and an accurate pass rate of 87 per cent.

Manuela Giugliano – Roma

Roma suffered a shock 1-0 defeat at home to Valerenga, but Manuela Giugliano produced a performance worthy of being on the winning side.

The Italian side failed to find the back of the net despite Giugliano creating 12 chances during the match.

She also made five recoveries and four tackles, but her efforts were in vain, as Valerenga walked away with the three points.

Klara Buhl – Bayern Munich

German international Klara Buhl inspired Bayern Munich in their stunning comeback victory against Arsenal.

No Bayern player could be happy with their first-half performance after the Gunners took a 2-0 lead at the Allianz Arena.

Buhl, though, turned the match completely around with a hat-trick of assists in the second-half. Her performance in the second-half is one of the best that will be seen in the Women’s Champions League this season.

Forwards

Ada Hegerberg – Lyon

Lyon star Ada Hegerberg is the greatest Women’s Champions League goalscorer of all time, and she added two more goals to her tally against Wolfsburg.

The 30-year-old scored a first-half brace to set Lyon on their way to victory against Wolfsburg.

She only touched the ball 22 times, but she showed her quality when she did get hold of it.

Sam Kerr – Chelsea

Sam Kerr makes the team, though she will have been disappointed to only score twice against St. Polten.

The Australian, in her first start for Chelsea since her return from an ACL injury, had 12 shots on goal and missed three big chances.

However, it was still an excellent performance from a player who missed 20 months of action. She also pleased Chelsea boss Sonia Bompastor, who could turn to the Australian more in the matches to come.

Melvine Malard – Manchester United

Completing the team is Melvine Malard, after the current joint-leader in the WSL Golden Boot race, who scored the opening goal for Manchester United against PSG.

The French forward took her goal well and has now already matched the total amount of goals she scored in all competitions last season (six).

Manchester United could enjoy a good run in the competition if Malard continues her excellent scoring form.
