In a recent report, journalist Graeme Bailey mentioned that Manchester United are facing stiff competition for Bologna winger Jonathan Rowe. It has been stated that the Red Devils would have to rival Everton, Chelsea, Aston Villa and Newcastle United in the race to sign the English wide player this off-season.

Rowe’s Impressive Numbers In Serie A

Rowe enjoyed a good run of form at the Italian club in the previous campaign as he was responsible for putting in a string of impressive displays for them in Serie A. The 23-year-old found the back of the net eight times and picked up five assists in 44 appearances for Bologna last season across multiple competitions.

The English talent is currently one of the most talented wide players in Serie A. Hence, it is no surprise that the Red Devils are planning to get a deal done for him later this year.

His current contract at the Italian club will run out in the summer of 2029, which could make it difficult for Man United to land him on the cheap this off-season.

Should Manchester United Boss Michael Carrick Snap Rowe Up This Summer?

Rowe is a good dribbler with the ball at his feet and can make a few driving runs with it out in the wide areas. He has got the eye to play some decisive passes in and around the opponent’s penalty box and can shoot the ball with power from long range.

The English sensation can even chip in by scoring and creating a handful of crucial goals for his team. Rowe mainly functions as a left-winger but can also operate as a right-sided wide player or as an attacking midfielder if told to do so. However, it remains to be seen whether he can make a smooth transition to life in the Premier League if the Red Devils manage to secure his services this summer.

We can expect Rowe to inject more quality and depth into Man United head coach Michael Carrick’s attack. He is good enough to fight for a regular starting spot at the Theatre of Dreams in the coming seasons.

At 23, Rowe has got his best years ahead of him, which makes him a worthy target for the Mancunian giants to pursue this summer. All in all, Carrick would be wise to snap him up soon.
