In a recent report, L’Equipe mentioned that Manchester United are set to rival Manchester City for Paris Saint-Germain keeper Gianluigi Donnarumma. It has been stated that the Red Devils are eyeing a move for the Italy international, who is yet to extend his contract with the French club.

Donnarumma’s Excellent Season With PSG

Donnarumma had a great campaign at PSG recently as he helped them win the treble. The Italian custodian conceded 39 goals and kept 12 clean sheets in 40 appearances for the French outfit last season on all fronts.

The 26-year-old was a solid presence at the back for Luis Enrique’s side and is currently amongst the best keepers in Europe. Hence, he would be a major signing for the Red Devils if they can find a way to win the race for his services this summer.

Donnarumma is under contract at Parc des Princes until the end of next season which could open the door for Man United to recruit him on the cheap in this transfer period.

Is Donnarumma A Dream Choice For Manchester United Boss Ruben Amorim?

Donnarumma is a solid handler of the ball and is not shy of using his commanding 1.96m frame to come out and collect crosses and loose balls inside his penalty area. The Italy international can use his quick reflexes to make some important saves for his team. He is a tidy passer of the ball as well.

We can expect Donnarumma to enhance the quality of Man United head coach Ruben Amorim’s first XI. He would serve as an upgrade over Andre Onana, who was prone to making errors at the back for the Red Devils last season.

At 26, Donnarumma has his peak years ahead of him which makes him a dream choice for the Mancunian club to consider in this summer transfer window.
