Manchester United have Lazio star Fisayo Dele-Bashiru on their midfield list as they look to strengthen in the middle of the park this summer, according to Sky Sports.

Man United manager Michael Carrick needs to replace Casemiro at the Old Trafford club, and Dele-Bashiru is one of those on the radar of the Red Devils.

The 25-year-old Nigerian international has two years left on his contract in Italy and is open to a move to the Premier League.

Dele-Bashiru never got to play in the English top-flight despite spending 11 years as a youth player at Manchester City.

A move to Man United could appeal to him if they come calling and the fact that he once impressed Pep Guardiola in training speaks volumes.

The former Man City manager loved Dele-Bashiru’s work-rate and attitude after he first joined up with senior team training in March 2019.

The England-born midfielder moved to Sheffield Wednesday in 2020 before a spell in the Super Lig with Hatayspor in 2023-24.

His performances earned him a move to Lazio the following season and he has caught the eye of Man United with his technicality and dynamism.

The 5ft 9in box-to-box midfielder is defensively robust, and his creativity could be perfect for the Red Devils.

However, it appears he is way down their wishlist and a move will only be considered if they miss out on other top targets.

West Ham United’s Mateus Fernandes, Brighton and Hove Albion’s Carlos Baleba and Bournemouth’s Alex Scott are also being monitored by Man United.

Nottingham Forest’s Elliot Anderson was once seen as their top target in the position, but Man City are favourites to land the England international.

Atalanta’s Ederson is closing in on a move to the Theatre of Dreams, but another midfielder is expected to be signed and it remains to be seen if it will be Dele-Bashiru.
