Manchester United have been labelled as the best club in world football for ‘ruining talent’ by the Italian media.
Italian journalist Paolo Condo has made the claim, amid a number of ex-Manchester United players who are thriving in Serie A.
Rasmus Hojlund opened his account for Napoli this weekend after scoring in the Italian champion’s 3-1 win at Fiorentina. The Denmark international joined Napoli from Manchester United in the summer after a disappointing period at Old Trafford.
Hojlund’s immediate impact follows the success of Scott McTominay at Napoli, with the latter named as Serie A’s Most Valuable Player last season for his role in the club’s title success.
McTominay’s outstanding season came after the Scotland midfielder was deemed a saleable asset at Manchester United.
Condo said the success of the stars in Italy proves ‘there’s no club in the world better at ruining talent’ than the Premier League side.
“God bless Manchester United. There’s no club in the world better at ruining talent in the last 10-12 years than them,” he said.
“Today we saw a great Højlund, last year McTominay led Napoli to a Scudetto, and De Gea’s saves too. We can’t stop thanking them.”
