The Athletic reports that Manchester United hold an interest in RB Leipzig striker Benjamin Seško but a move for the Slovenian will be difficult.

United have shown an interest in Seško dating back to last summer, and have continued to monitor his situation at the Red Bull Arena. However, he is currently not a serious option for the Premier League side.

Despite needing a striker, the Europa League finalists are put off by not only how much money Leipzig will demand for the striker but also how much Seško will want in wages. Bild reports that the striker will bring in €70m for Leipzig. This is deemed as incompatible with United’s current budget and how the 22-year-old performed last season.

Leipzig will need to sell several players this summer to justify their summer spending. So far, without European football, they have spent €92m, but sales of both Seško and Xavi Simons, and maybe even Loïs Openda, will allow the club to break even.
