Real Madrid are continuing to explore the transfer market for reinforcements at right-back, but one of their admired targets may already be slipping out of reach.

According to reports from Defensa Central, Manchester United have made their position very clear regarding Diogo Dalot

The English club view the Portuguese international as an essential part of their project and have no intention of allowing him to leave Old Trafford this summer.

Mourinho likes Dalot

Dalot’s name has recently gained attention within Real Madrid’s sporting discussions, since it came to light that Dani Carvajal will leave at the end of the season.

In that context, incoming manager Jose Mourinho is said to be an admirer of the Manchester United star.

However, the operation appears extremely difficult because Dalot remains under contract until 2028, and Manchester United are not showing any signs of weakening their stance.

Real Madrid evaluating right-back options

It is known that within Real Madrid, signing a right-back is viewed as one of the most urgent decisions.

Although Dalot is admired, Real Madrid are aware that securing his signing would likely require a very expensive and complicated negotiation.

At the same time, the list of available right-backs on the market is not particularly large, meaning every option is being analysed at the moment.

Notably, Real Madrid are placing their complete trust in Trent Alexander-Arnold, whose performances have gradually improved after receiving criticism during his early adaptation period.

Still, Madrid do not want to leave themselves short in such an important position.

Hence, even if Dalot ultimately remains impossible to sign, Real Madrid are open to promoting younger talents, with names such as Jesus Fortea and David Jimenez being mentioned.
