Manchester United retain interest in Viktor Gyökeres despite fresh Osimhen talks | OneFootball

According to Foot Mercato, Manchester United are still interested in signing Viktor Gyökeres (27) from Sporting CP this summer despite reopening talks with Victor Osimhen (26) over a potential move to Old Trafford.

The Swedish striker scored 39 goals in 33 appearances in the Portuguese top flight. Gyökeres’ imperious form last season has seen him become a hot property in the transfer market with several Premier League clubs linked with a move for the 27-year-old, including Arsenal and the Red Devils.

Despite United hoping to sign Gyökeres before the end of the summer transfer window, the Premier League outfit are also considering other options to bolster their striking options. The UEFA Europa League finalists have reopened talks with Osimhen over potentially signing the Napoli forward this summer, Foot Mercato understands. In addition to the Sporting striker and the Nigerian international, Florian Plettenberg reports that United are considering a potential move for Eintracht Frankfurt forward Hugo Ekitiké.
