Manchester United are interested in signing Bologna star Jonathan Rowe.
Corriere della Sera claims that Everton are also keen on the English forward.
United manager Michael Carrick mainly used Matheus Cunha and Patrick Dorgu on the left wing last term, but he wants a specialist in that position.
Crysencio Summerville was identified as an ideal option, but they wanted to resolve Marcus Rashford’s future before making a move.
The delay allowed Al-Hilal to agree a £60m deal with West Ham, and the Dutchman is now poised to move to Saudi Arabia.
United could turn their attention towards Rowe. The 23-year-old came through Norwich City’s youth academy before making his competitive debut in December 2021.
He didn’t set the house on fire during his time in Norwich, bagging 13 goals and five assists in 56 appearances.
Rowe struggled in his subsequent spell at Ligue 1 club Marseille, where he scored only three goals in 31 matches.
However, Rowe’s goalscoring output improved after joining Bologna last summer.
He struck eight goals and five assists in 44 appearances across all competitions last season.
United have already announced the signings of Andrey Santos, Youri Tielemans, Karl Darlow and Tynan Thompson.
They are looking to add a third midfielder and a new left-back before the end of the transfer window.
